The Web Design Process

Your Website is how your business presents itself to the world. Creating an effective Website is one of the most important things you can do for your business, but not everyone has the time or talent required to handle building a Website on their own. The Web Spinner can work with you to create and maintain a professional Website that is an asset, not a liability. In addition, we can provide services, after the sale, which will keep your site current and also enable people to find your site on the internet. To accomplish this we use five basic steps.

Step 1 : Free Consultation

The main objective of the consultation is to get an understanding of the goals that you wish to achieve with your Website and to try to understand the image that you would like to project. Knowing a little bit about you and your business is a key step to creating a successful Website for you.  We will try to answer any questions that you may have, and we will explain to you the necessary steps needed to get your Website started.

Based on what we learn, we will prepare a Website development plan. It will include:

• A recommendation for Domain Name registration and hosting (If needed)

• A list of recommended and optional pages which will meet your needs

• A recommendation for the type of Marketing (Search Engine Ranking Service) you need based on your target market

• A breakdown of the cost of of each item

• An estimate of the time required to develop and launch your site

This plan will be sent to you within 72 hours of the initial meeting. It will be revised per your feedback, if needed, and will be returned to you for approval.

Step 2 : Design

Brainstorm and Develop Themes - After acceptance of the development plan, the design process will begin. We will brainstorm and develop different design themes based on the image you've presented to us.  We use Color Wheel Pro to insure that your Website has color balance and that it stimulates the feelings you want your visitors to get when they visit your site.

Color Wheel Pro is a unique software program that allows you to see color theory in action. With Color Wheel Pro, you can create harmonious color schemes and preview them on real-world examples.

Sample Pages (1 to 3 based on the number of pages your Website will have) - Samples of these themes will be made available to you on the Internet for your review. These samples will give you an idea of what your Website could look like. If you want to go with one of them, great! Or... pick the things (layout, colors, etc) you like from each sample page and we'll combine them. Or...if you want something totally different, just let us know, with some detail about what it is that you want, and we'll prepare a page for you to see.

Site Development - When you are satisfied we have the perfect design, we will start to build your Website. Throughout this entire process we will keep you informed, and you will have full input and control. You will be able to see the actual pages as they are being created and will have a detailed action plan (For Websites with >10 pages) so you will know the status of your site at all times. You will also know exactly what you need to provide to enable us to complete your Website.

Research and Write Website Content - You may be too busy doing what you do best, your own business, to have time to write the content for your Website.  The Web Spinner can help.  We will research and write the content for your Website for you.  Then you review it for accuracy and to make sure all that's been written is applicable to you and your business.

The content of your Website is critical if it is to be a successful one.  It has to have content that will attract visitors and bring them back.  Your Website must have content that is interesting, easy to read and understand, and is of value to its visitors.  If it can't meet this requirement, they're on to your competitor's Website.

• You Website must have something that people want.

• The text should be well written, without errors.

• If appropriate the content should include photos or graphic images to support the text.

The Web Spinner is experienced in finding the information needed for your Website and then writing it in a clear and professional style required for a great Website.  By letting The Web Spinner write your Website's content it is very likely that your Website will be deployed earlier than if you or your staff had to write it.

Step 3: Deployment Learn about hosting...

After the design process is finished, we will rigorously test your site and try to make it as compatible on as many platforms as possible. Once we are confident your site is ready for deployment, we will upload it to the host server and will insure the DNS points your URL (Domain Name) to your Website.

Step 4: Marketing Learn more...

Your site isn't worth too much if people can't find it. The Web Spinner provides services that enhance your Website’s ability to be found when searchers enter key words and phrases you use to describe the products, services or information your Website offers.

Step 5: Maintenance Learn about our maintenance plans...

Once your Website is deployed, regular maintenance will help to insure that it is kept up-to-date with your changing business. It will also help to retain its current visitors as well as attract new ones. The Web Spinner can update the content, add graphics, change links, and even add new pages.
